Antonin Demeskin

Prince of Starke and Jacksonville
The Once and Future Prince

Character Sheet (ST limited)

Antonin Demeskin is a man driven by purpose, by tradition, and by need. Born in the 15th century he was a merchant. Until a vampire came calling in the middle of the night, slaughtering his wife and nearly killing him.

Demeskin was consumed by the need to avenge his love, and reached out to the only thing that could give him the power to do so. The Kindred. He proved his worth and was embraced into Clan Ventrue. And spent the next four hundred years gaining power and searching for the Tzimisce that killed his beloved.

Prince Antonin Demeskin

As a Prince, Antonin is a man of many oddities. From his demeanor and willingness to engage with Ancilla and even Neonates, he leads his Praxis from the front, not behind a wall of Primogen, Hounds, and a Seneschal. Any kindred may approach him with valid questions without fear of reprisal. Those who approach him with invalid questions are punished, or given tasks that are demeaning to teach them to think more before asking.

In this way he earns the trust and loyalty of the kindred in his praxis. It is this separtation from the norm in a court that has proved instrumental in Antonin getting, keeping, and regaining his praxis when it was taken from him.

Twice Antonin has been forced out of the title of prince by outside forces, first by the Sabbat Bishop Conrad, and then by the incursion of Assamites that kidnapped him and tortured him for days.

Both times he returned, and regained his praxis relatively quickly.

The Starke Council

Antonin first tentatively joined the Starke Council without the permission of the Ivory Tower, but after his capture and return to the Camarilla, his loyalty and cunning allowed him to convince the Ivory Tower to support his choice to be an active member in the Council. As such Antonin sits upon the Council's Throne of Blood, the leader of his people in council affairs and a respected voice in council politics.

The Ivory Tower sees the Starke Council as a 'temporary experiment', useful for gaining intelligence on the various supernatural factions that make up the council. They have stated that 'The Camarilla will support it for what short time it can last', assuming that the council will fade in time. This may be true, it may not, but the Ivory Tower sees the council as lucrative, and approves of Antonin's actions based on what they can gain from it's existence and his inclusion in it.
