Backstory

Physical Description:
Her host, Laura, was a dark haired petite woman in her early 20s and of average height, somewhat pale skinned. Hazel eyes that were accompanied by a perpetual frown, some would say that she even had a scary look on her face despite the lithe features. She dressed in dark but practical clothes. A pretty lady that didn’t look very friendly.

The real Dumah isn’t too far off from her former host, a completely pale and serene figure with long dark hair and inhuman beauty, lithe limbs, dressed in black robes she moves silently with graceful and deliberate moves, there’s no flailing arms, no needles step nor tripping. Around her there’s a cold yet peaceful aura, she is the certainty of death but the comfort of a peaceful passing to the Second World, to look into grey gentle eyes is to gaze upon the peacefulness of afterlife. On her back there are long raven-like wings that extend for two meters, the feathers are all perfect in condition and are ready to give a gentle embrace to those that come near and take them away.

This more humanoid and appealing while representative of her low rank in the celestial hierarchy is a pragmatic one. The more inhuman and incomprehensible forms would only torment the dead. If there is higher or more conceptual form Dumah hides it.

Personality:
Laura was a sad figure, behind the frowny face there was overwhelming regret. Her mortal half mourned the loss of her lover, her loneliness and her apparent inability to do anything to improve her own life and the world around her. The Elohim half that once seethed with hatred for humanity when hit with the emotional pain of a mortal felt kinship towards her current host. The two of them felt rejected by the world at points in their life, neither had many connections. Though while Dumah in the past set out to lash out, Laura was only consumed by this sadness.

The interaction between those two halves created a regretful person, trying to atone constantly as well longing for human warmth. Not all was sadness of course, she had a deadpan and dry sense of humor, and perhaps was a bit dorky when she opened up to people. She had her nerdy hobbies and cared deeply for the wellbeing of humanity, and even of her unrepenting siblings. Perhaps she was even a bit of a romantic beneath all the sour.

Now that she is an Angel, the sadness and regret is no longer overwhelming. They are not truly gone, but she finds strength in that as an angel she can do much more to mend the problems she caused. The bits that originated from Laura didn’t exactly leave her either, the experience was resonant enough that a bit of the mortal is stuck in the essence of this Angelic being. Going through the human experience fundamentally changes any Demon or Angel.

Backstory:
Dumah was not noteworthy in the early days of Creation, a shy and remote being who carried out her job with diligence and solemnity. Yet it was all too lonely which lead her, like many of her siblings, to rebel against the All High. Though even after she rebelled, she remained alone. The humans who she wanted to love were still afraid of her. The fact many humans turned their back on the Fallen also fed her resent and bitterness towards the Heavenly host and the loyalist humans, it was what led her to side with the Ebon Legion and their fervent battles against the heavenly host. Though even as she tried to free the humans from the shackles of God she was scorned. After the first murder she was one of the many Rebels who let themselves be taken over by the wave of violence, bitter that despite her sacrifices she remained lonely. While lashing out against humanity and the heavenly host she'd use her powers to punish the souls of dead humans, earning herself the name of Silent Tormentor during the war. She'd remain non involved with the creation of Haven, the birth of the nephilim or the great experiment and instead focused her efforts on battle throughout the entirety of the rebellion.

Then came the Fall, cast into the abyss where her resent for humanity only grew. For all the years of suffering she planned revenge against God and creation, yet when finally release from his prison she saw a broken creation and the lamentations of humanity, and then she possessed the body of Laura, a woman who suffered from a broken heart and loneliness after the passing of her boyfriend. The pain that human woman felt weighed on her, it was her pain now, and she felt guilt for the pain she inflicted. Now the Fallen Angel of Death seeks to amend for her transgressions.

What the Mortal World Knows

A nobody freelancing reporter, passed away about a year later after her boyfriend in a strange accident. No real family to speak of, few friends. Truly a forgettable figure.

What the Supernatural Community Knows

Dumah is a Slayer, or rather was, an Angel of Death that exists to guide the souls of the deceased into the Second World. For a while she cooperated with the local Infernal Court and the Council, even working as the Minister of Dust as well the old Seat of the Quill at points.

She was a demon who sought redemption and redemption she found, after losing her Host body in battle against one of the dreaded earthbound. Dumah accepted her punishment, feeling as if she had failed to protect Laura. Through her actions and self sacrifice, the All Mighty accepted her back, riding her from the torment. She is an angel again though not quite like her brothers who never rebelled.

“Sounds like you would get along with the semen demons… I mean, Lamassu.”

Signature Techniques

Dumah did not engage in combat often, but she was relied upon whenever ghosts were involved. She could easily exorcise or pacify them due to her knowledge and focus on the Lore of Spirits.
