The Dowager's Fool

Hybrid Chassis Corvette.

The Fool was an aging Arbiter class light attack corvette before it was won for salvage by Brian in bet. Since then it has been heavily modified.

Structure Points: 100
Maximum Tonnage: 110 Tons
Armor Plate: 20 Points at Optimum

Core:

The Fool's core is a modified Arctec 5600 series Molten Salt Reactor with a reinforced Seebeck production grid. It produces 6 power units at minimal operational temperatures, and a maximum of 12 power units when 'running hot'.

The Fool's computer cores consist of a primary core, a secondary, and 6 auxiliary calculation cores.

Hardpoint Mounts:

Weapons:
2 Saber PDC Point Defense Rotary guns. Mounted on belted hardpoints fore and aft.
Requires: 1 Power Unit, 1 Computation Core each

When powered these guns operate automatically. To activate them the Gunner uses an action to configure the guns by rolling Operation. This roll is recorded and kept on hand as the result of that roll is the target number for any missile type attack made on the ship. If a roll meets or exceeds the PDC's configuration roll, the Pilot then gets to attempt to dodge the missile with a pilot check at a difficulty equal to the missile's attack roll. The Gunner must roll above the gun's minimum accuracy roll for the weapon to accept the configuration and begin operation. Once that has happen it operates autonomously without any further input from the Gunner. However, if the power or computer core tasked to the guns is reset or diverted, the guns cease to function and must be reset to operate again, forcing a new operations roll.

Minimum Accuracy roll: 8

1 Big Iron Autocannon mounted on an axial track on the ship's upper fuselage.
Requires: 1 Power Unit.

The Big Iron is the Fool's primary defensive armament. Big enough to punch though armor and get most enemies to think twice about tangling with the fool. This gun is controlled manually with an operations roll opposed by the target ship's pilot check. If the gunner meets or exceeds the pilot check, the weapon hits as normal, with measures of success providing more precise targeting on the gunner's part.

Base Damage: 25

1 Experimental Apollyon Plasma Caster mounted on the ship's nose.
Requires: 2 Power Units

The Apollyon Plasma caster is a weapon specifically designed to destroy ablative armor on enemy ships. When fired it hurls a bead of highly charged neodymium at the target. The bead is extremely magnetic in nature, and the act of firing it through a plasma laced rail gun coats the bead in a bubble of plasma that is dragged along by the bead itself. If it strikes a ship the plasma flash boils the metal armor away. Any hits reduce the targets armor rating by 3 in addition to the weapon's normal damage. However, the weapon is unstable. And can only be fired once every other round as it needs time to recharge and energize the helium gas into a plasma state for firing.

Base Damage: 15

Salvage:
1 Salvicraft mark 4 salvage suite mounted on an axial track on the ship's belly.
Requires: 3 power units and 2 Computation Cores

The Fool's salvage suite consists of a full onboard salvage toolkit with 50 meter retractable tethers, two manipulator arms, and six cable tie downs. A full suite of tools for carving parts out of a ship for sale.

Mining:
1 GRNU Mineworks Mark 800 mining laser mounted on the ship's aft hardpoint
Requires: 3 Power Units and 2 Computation Cores

With two retractable manipulator arms and the mining laser on a third arm, the GRNU Mark 800 isn't the best mining kit out there, but it's what the Fool has. The ship backs up close to a valuable resource asteroid, and attaches to it with one of the two manipulator arms. The hardpoint has several mining tools on 50 meter retractable tethers, allowing the operator to control the arms, while a second crew member uses the tethered tools to deal with problems. Between the two sets of tools and the powerful mining laser, the fool can fill it's entire cargo bay in a little over 48 hours in general, 72 at most.

Propulsion
The Fool's main drive cone is a mark 5 SpaceX refurb cone based on the original Falcon 9 MVAC propulsion units from the early 21st century that Brian salvaged from an old Martian derelict that Bob heavily modified with modern tech and controls.

The Fool's Secondary control jets are compressed helium and can be slowly regenerated from the ship's built in ram scoops along the cooling wings. They can also use compressed CO2 from the scrubbers or even water from the ship's processors gathered from asteroid ice.
