Character Name: Brian Von Hammersmark aka 'Captain Brian Anvil'

Backstory: Brian Von Hammersmark is the fourth son of Admiral George Von Hammersmark of the United Earth Government's Fourth Navy Fleet. Brian and his father had a falling out nearly a decade ago after a defeat at the hands of the Martians. Brian was captured when his destroyer, the Argosia, took a railgun shot to the primary cooling fin, disabling the ship entirely. His crew was captured and George wanted to negotiate for his return and his return only. But Brian would not allow himself to be released without his crew, which cost the UEG greatly. The conflict with the martians ended a few months later while Brian was still in recovery. He was dishonorably discharged for doing the honorable, but not profitable or political thing and left Terran space in secret. He has been operating ships in the belts ever since.
Personality: Aloof, relaxed, and highly overqualified for what he's doing, Captain Brian leads by example, not by orders. He is brave, cunning, and willing to swallow his pride and run when the situation calls for it. All traits that make for a good belt captain.

Traits:
Missing Appendage: Brian is missing the pinky on his right hand. He's had it replaced with a pseudo flesh prosthetic that doesn't use a neural link, but instead moves when the adjacent finger moves. Allowing him to function almost normally, though he has to type without it. The fingertip is removable, and fits a dataplug that he keeps the ship's finances on. The entire finger can be removed leaving only a titanium post jutting from the damaged joint.
Hooks:
Dark Past: Brian changed his identity to Brian Anvil after fleeing the Terran military. He keeps his past a secret and doesn't often use video chat as to ensure that his face doesn't get around much. But in the ten years he's operated in the belt the Terrans haven't come for him, so apparently they either think him dead or don't care to come after him and risk political hurdles just for an AWOL charge.
Family Feud: A while back Brian got on the wrong side of the Kerenkov clan. A family of asteroid belt traders. They tried to jack his salvage and he sent them running with a broken ship and no cargo.
Flaw:
War Wound(5): The loss of the Argosia weighs heavily on Brian, but not as much as his injuries sustained when the ship took the hit from a Martian rail gun. He is in near constant low grade pain, and his joints were never fully healed due to him fleeing care from his sick bed.

Ship: The Dowager's Fool(The Fool) - Brian owns the ship he captains, outright, having won the right to salvage an old terran corvette found in the black from his previous partner and captain.
Fool Logo Shipsuit - A combination of body suit and overclothes both in black with red trim and the Dowager's Fool logo on them. Given to each crew member upon accepting a contract to serve aboard the fool.
Fool Logo Bodysuit - Synthskin body suit with logos for the fool. The inside of the skin tight sleeves has reaction patches for various threats, and the logos discolor if exposed to radiation.
Ship's Log: - The Fool's logs are removable, and Brian keeps them on him when the ship is in port. Without the logbooks the ship will not function, so they also serve as keys to the ship, preventing tampering to some extent.
Dataslate: - Brian has an older model dataslate and several dataplugs to go with it. Mostly containing records, finances and various charts and logs that assist him in his duties as captain.
