=====Taint=====


To make the taint seem more impactful, here are modifications to taint.  Note, Garou affected by stage 4 or 5 taint can’t be cleansed by rite of cleansing as their soul is to taint, to cleanse it a quest can be done to seek out aid in order to be cleansed. If you go over 5, you fall to the triad. 

===Gaining and losing taint.===

Gaining 1st stage of taint is common and isn’t hard, being in a wyrm area will gain you stage 1 of taint.  Over longer stretches of time in areas of higher taint it can even give you stage 2 taint. Unless like in places like malfas or scar or deep into a hive, going above this passively is hard.  Making deals with banes (or other corrupt spirits) and being hit with certain attacks from banes, BSD's and fomori (along with other corrupt creatures) can increase your taint as well.  These can get you up to stage 4, but high is much harder, while the triad and spirits and creatures can tempt, deceive and trick you, it’s the choice of the character to go higher, either through using its abilities at stage 4 or 5, or doing a deep act of the wyrm (or other triad, the wyrm here is just an example) like killing a gaian shifter or kinfolk intentionally, eating human flesh, and the sorts.

Cleansing taint can be done with rite of Cleansing, when you are cleansing taint, there's a side effect.  For wyrm taint you feel deep physical pain, for weaver taint you feel euphoria and for Wyld taint you feel as if your soul and part of yourself is lost and being ripped out.  At stage 4 taint or higher, there's so much taint that the person has to be forced into it, and stay there, those that have fallen to the triad can't be cleansed like this.  Permanent mutations can’t be gotten rid of so easily, a quest to a spirit or realm will have to be done and is hard and usually with consequences. The mutation is tied to your soul, so chopping it off and regrowing it won't, the mutation will come back, though just normally losing your limbs the limb won't regrow automatically.  

===**Wyrm Taint**===


1st stage

You feel unclean, as though there is something wrong with your flesh, and your soul feels heavy and listless. You might find that your skin itches, as though you’re suffering from a rash, and you always feel on edge. There’s a small chance of a mutation, but it is usually mundane and only temporally. 



2nd stage
The corruption of the Wyrm is now visible on your flesh as you appear pale, ill, and clearly uncomfortable in the presence of untainted servants of Gaia. This malefaction has begun to penetrate your soul and your rage.  It takes 1 less success to frenzy and to thrall. A minor mutation is there, is a veil breech but is only temporally. 


3rd stage
Corruption spreads, and it affects a part of your body.  You gain a permanent mutation, it usually had a benefit and a drawback, even after cleansing, the mutation still lasts.  Often Garou who have fought the wyrm for a long time often have a few. Your mind and soul have been altered; you gain the derangement: destruction. If you already have it, then you gain a derangement or flaw of st choice that fits the Wyrm.



4th stage
Your spiritual orientation has shifted away from Gaia to the Wyrm. You can no longer recover or gain Gnosis in the usual fashion, but rather you must be located in a Wyrm Affiliated zone or in the presence of a creature affiliated with the Wyrm to regain Gnosis. In addition, werewolves without Wyrm Taint gain a point of Wyrm Taint if they are in your presence for longer than five minutes. Following the Wyrm is not without its own temptations. You may choose two formori taint powers to add to your character sheet, without XP expenditure, so long as you remain at the fourth or fifth stage of Wyrm Taint. Using these tainted blessings will quickly drag you to Wyrm Affinity.



5th stage 
Your spirit has almost completely surrendered to the Wyrm, and now your flesh reflects this state. Your body has begun to mutate, featuring putrid pustules, weeping sores, and other deformities associated with the Black Spiral Dancers. You may exchange any tribal merits or gifts with any Black Spiral Dancer merit or gift of the same cost or rank while you remain at the fifth stage of Wyrm Taint.



===**Weaver Taint**===


1st stage
You feel clean, and like being clean, you even smell clean to others.  You also like everything to be precise and orderly and do it routinely.  This is all usually subtle.  There’s a small chance of a mutation, but it is usually mundane and only temporally.

2nd stage
The corruption of the weaver is now visible on your flesh as you appear more clean and more perfect, you look like you were more modeled and shaped to be idea. This malefaction has begun to penetrate your soul and your gnosis.  It takes twice as long to regain gnosis and all gnosis rolls are at +1 diff. A minor mutation is there, is a veil breech but is only temporally.

3rd stage
Corruption spreads, and it affects a part of your body.  You gain a permanent mutation, it usually had a benefit and a drawback, even after cleansing, the mutation still lasts.  Often Garou who have fought the weaver for a long time often have a few.  You personality becomes more obsessed with order, you gain the derangement obsessive.  If you already have it, then you gain a derangement or flaw of st choice that fits the weaver. 


4th stage
Your spiritual orientation has shifted away from Gaia to the Weaver. You can no longer recover or gain Gnosis in the usual fashion, but rather you must be located in a Weaver Affiliated zone or in the presence of a creature affiliated with the Weaver to regain Gnosis. In addition, werewolves without weaver Taint gain a point of weaver Taint if they are in your presence for longer than five minutes. Following the weaver is not without its own temptations. You may choose two drone taint powers to add to your character sheet, without XP expenditure, so long as you remain at the fourth or fifth stage of weaver Taint. Using these tainted blessings will quickly drag you to weaver Affinity.


5th stage
Your spirit has almost completely surrendered to the Wyrm, and now your flesh reflects this state. Your body has begun to mutate, featuring putrid pustules, weeping sores, and other deformities associated with the Cyber dogs and Drones. You may exchange any tribal merits or gifts with Drone or Glasswalker or gift of the same cost or rank while you remain at the fifth stage of weaver Taint.



===**Wyld Taint**===

 
1st stage
You feel like you are connected to nature, and smell like plants of nature. You also like moving around, never being in a routine, and changing things up.  These changes are usually small, like moving a chair around or something.  There’s a small chance of a mutation, but it is usually mundane and only temporally.


2nd stage
The corruption of the Wyld is now visible on your flesh as you appear more one with nature and smell like it more, and less in routine and more chaotic though still subtle.  This malefaction has begun to penetrate your mind and your will.  All willpower rolls are at +1 diff. A minor mutation is there, is a veil breech but is only temporally.

3rd stage
Corruption spreads, and it affects a part of your body.  You gain a permanent mutation, it usually had a benefit and a drawback, even after cleansing, the mutation still lasts.  Often Garou who have fought the Wyld for a long time often have a few.  The world around you start to become more chaotic and break down, as you suffer from derangement: Hallucinations. If you already have it, then you gain a derangement or flaw of st choice that fits the Wyld. Black furies at this level suffer from wyld madness disease as their personality completely flips. It is unknown why this happens. 


4th stage
Your spiritual orientation has shifted away from Gaia to the Wyld. You can no longer recover or gain Gnosis in the usual fashion, but rather you must be located in a Wyld Affiliated zone or in the presence of a creature affiliated with the Wyld to regain Gnosis. In addition, werewolves without Wyld Taint gain a point of Wyld Taint if they are in your presence for longer than five minutes. Following the Wyld is not without its own temptations. You may choose two Gorgian taint powers to add to your character sheet, without XP expenditure, so long as you remain at the fourth or fifth stage of Wyld Taint. Using these tainted blessings will quickly drag you to Wyld Affinity.


5th stage
Your spirit has almost completely surrendered to the Wyld, and now your flesh reflects this state. Your body has begun to mutate, featuring putrid pustules, weeping sores, and other deformities associated with Black furies or Gorgians. You may exchange any tribal merits or gifts with Black furies or Gorgians or gift of the same cost or rank while you remain at the fifth stage of Wyld Taint.
