Tall slight man with ruddy blonde hair. Not bad looking but pale to the point that its clear his work keeps him away from the light of day. Eyes are almost always a bit dilated with dark circles under them. He's pleasant but seemingly always distracted. Tends to be dressed in a light blue button up shirt, sometimes with a tie, khakis and nice wingtip shoes that look like they've seen over a decade's worth of use. \\

Quincy VanPandt was born to Liza and Andrew VanPandt in Andersonville, Ohio. He was always a bright child, if not a bit solitary. He had casual friends growing up but never formed any real close bonds with anybody. He was always deeply enthralled with math and science. The few friends that he did keep came from Math Club and Science Olympiad, which he participated and excelled in throughout his schooling. He graduated from school with top honors and was granted an academic scholarship to the California Tech. His love of the sciences and math did not dwindle when he got to college. Making the dean’s list every semester and participating in many academic based extracurriculars. I would be a girl that broke him out of his shell though. Laura Masters was her name. Quincy was absolutely enamored with her. After finally getting the courage to talk to her to offer to tutor her she took a liking to him but quickly landed him in the friend zone. It was when one of her friends had to back out on a trip to a music festival over spring break that she offered to take Quincy along in her place. Not normally one for such affairs, but seeing a chance to get closer to her he took her up on the offer. She quickly disappeared with a hunky wook-boy when they arrived to the festival though that was the final nail in the coffin of his chances with her. A friendly face noticed him being down in the dumps there and quickly befriended him. Grant was his name. A cordial man with a pleasant smile and a quick wit. Quincy quickly became fast friends with him. On the last night of the festival Grant offered Quincy what he said was a very small dose of LSD. This was not the truth. Grant in fact was a Mage as well and saw the potential in Quincy yet to be awakened. The small dose was actually an heroic amount to do, doubly so for a first time. It sent Quincy out of his mind and out of this reality. Awakening him at the same time as being elevated to a very augmented consciousnesses, Quincy was sure that he had been able to see outside of this reality and had seen that it truly was a simulation as many has theorized. Four days later, Quincy came back to his senses, Grant at his side. Grant took on the roll of his mentor from that point forward, and Quincy had a goal. He now KNEW this reality was a simulation, and one day it would end. It was now his mission to escape the program and find a way to keep it running for the rest of this reality.

When he returned to classes he tripled his course load. Using his skills with Mind magics to obtain a focus unheard of to the rest of the normal world. He breezed through the rest of his schooling and quickly obtained his doctorate in Quantum Sciences. He became one of the leading minds in the “Simulation Theory” ideal, even being named to lead a lab that researched this theory at the University or Florida. Now running an active lab and teaching classes he lives the life of an academic professional. In what little time he has away from the class and lab, he has taken a fondness for cooking. This free time is very fleeting though. Almost every second of every day was in some form or another devoted to his goal of escaping the program and saving reality, which he fears could end at any moment.

Outside of the school is is personable enough. He’s not exactly hip but is well versed in a great many topics, but his conversation will always inevitable circle back to the simulation theory. He has been called on to help in Mage affairs from time to time but has been largely been left to his own devices.

He always smells like coffee, looks like he hasn’t slept in days and his eyes tend to be slightly to VERY dilated. Always friendly but is oft to get lost in thought. He has a tendency to start doing math equations in the air in front of him seemingly oblivious to the rest of the world around him as he rambles off what others would perceive as strings of random numbers (see Mental lock).

Is a member of the would be sub-tradition "Ether Coders". Through a shared belief that magic is actually just the manipulation of the code of our reality they have formed a bond. A hybrid of the Sons of Ether then trained in the ways of the Virtual Adepts they see past the veil and into the code that grows stronger and stronger every day. There are only a handful of them. Grand and Quincey in America. Imiko in Japan (who works closely with Quincey in his work. There are many hours of video conferences logged in both of their PCs) and the Reinhardt twins, Hans and Peter, in Europe (whom have not made contact with any of the others for three years. This is not the first time they have done this.)
