Character Bio: J.C is said to be a private investigator, supposedly he has membership of the Arcanum. Some say he has odd ideas, speaking of illuminati and world conspiracies
to keep the masses away from knowing the truth. Speaking of truth, he presents himself as a pursuer of truth but other than that he doesn't speak much of himself. The people
who have met him say he got a montone voice, a blank stare and a deadpan sense of humor. An odd guy, yet so few seem to remember him. Despite his position in the Arcanum 
he is not particularly antagonistical to the supernatural, indeed they only have his boundless curiosity. Understand and catalogue seems to be his initial reaction, terror
of them does exist but there's never a desire for a hunt.

Description: Those who have met him describe him as just a plain 30 year old caucasian guy, first thing tha comes to mind is his poker face and his brown overcoat but his actual physical features are
hard to remember. Average height and build(180cm tall), brown short hair, he has a stubble on his face and some would say even a strong jaw. He is definitely as average as it comes, a solid 5/10. As
previously mentioned he is often dressed in a light brow overcoat, he wears a white dress shirt underneath and a black tie, on his bottoms its just a plain pair of black pants.



!!!HISTORY

Perhaps what set Jonathan's current demeanor and curiosity was his early childhood, raised as the only child of his drug addicted mother and with an absolute absent father. When he was but a preteen he was the witness of the murder of his mother, an incomprehensible monster had torn her apart. Authorities blamed it on a bear attack, but something deep within the young child knew it was something else. They just hid it for reasons unknown to him. Jonathan secluded himself from the other children, being a weird outcast was perhaps the origin of his snark. A way to fight back the verbal abuse adults and other children dished towards him. His foster parents didn't help much, being rather careless and only caring if his grades were good, or even just passable. During his teenager years he developed a curiosity for the occult and arcane, those around him worried that the boy was dipping into satanism. More scorn, more rejection. His investigative cravings led to the career as a detective.

As a police force detective J.C was an inquisitive mind, the apathy inducing hours of work didn't seem to phase his desire to reach the truth, he knew something else lurked in the shadows. It didn't take long before he stumbled across knowledge he shouldn't have,gruesome murders that no human could have performed, disappearances with little explanation, odd videotapes and finally true occult knowledge.This caught the attention of the local Arcanum chapter, he was taken in and trained. Jonathan showed a great knack for investigations and Sorcery, but they came with outlandish theories of the world that made him a joke to his peers, even more so when he engaged with other conspiracy theorists, supposedly bringing shame to the Arcanum. Even with his aptitude his mentor found himself forced to cut ties in order to keep his own reputation from being dragged into the mud for having created such a crackpot. The sorcerer stuck to his convictions even then, between the archives of the arcanum and his own research his sorcery and understanding of the world grew, men in black exist out there and they are out to occult the supernatural. But for what purpose? What are their relations to the government? These questions must be answered.

J.C has ever since then been keeping personal journals of his investigations and writing reports to the arcanum(Even if he knows they will be ignored), one day he hopes to reach the truth. Then the next step will be to publish, he understands that's something that may take his entire life but it must be done. Currently, he started an independent radio show where he can ramble away his theories to the public, though is main line of work is as a private investigator.

Hellfire: Incantations in ancient languages and hand gestures are the main part of the spell formula for his Hellfire spells, it will also often require material components such as coal powder, sulfur
or the flame of a lighter to be cast. Should he be unable to gesticulate, speak or be found without the material components he will have difficulty casting the spell.

Alchemy: Alchemy unsurprisingly requires an alchemy lab where he can make his mixtures. Just as obviously he can't create mixtures or metals from nothing, they will require traditional alchemical components
as well the time to prepare.

Bull's Strength: Increase STR +1 for one scene, cannot raise above 5 dots.\\
Cat's Grace:Increase DEX +1 for one scene, cannot raise above 5 dots.\\
Bear's Endurance:Increase STA +1 for one scene, cannot raise above 5 dots.\\

Shadowcasting: Much like hellfire, incantations and gestures make the most noticeable part of the spell. The other one is that whoever is targeted by it must be stepping in at least one shadow to be affected.

Occult Library 3: Built over the years J.C enjoys a moderate library of occult tomes, scrolls and books. It was first started with a few books gifted from his mentor, he then began to built it himself. Finding them forgotten somewhere or stealing it from other sorcerers. Most of his library is on Sorcery but it contains entries on other supernaturals. Some have been translated into english but it contains papers in Aramaic or Latin.

Resources 1: Outside his library J.C doesn't have a lot of possessions, small apartment and a scooter being the most notable. He isn't paid a lot and his services are 
rarely requested due to his odd behavior.

Contacts 3: When you are in this line of work its good to cultivate a contact network. His main contacts are a hacker and tech wiz who helps J.C set up his show, local beat cop and a driver who will pick
you up for the right price.

Discredited(1 pt Flaw): Thanks to his outlandish conspiracy theories both members of the Arcanum and other investigators thinks he is absolute insane. Cops will often
refuse to talk to him and Arcanum higherups ignore his requests or reports.

Driving Goal(3 pt Flaw): J.C. is obssessed with uncovering the plans of the "Illuminati", the truth is out there and he is one of the few that care
enough to look into it. It not particularly about exposing or fighting them, but rather to understand their organization and plans. As well avoid their control or vigilant eye.

OCPD(3 pt Flaw): Perhaps due to his paranoid nature, any door he opens or closes, locks or unlocks will be done three times or more to ensure they are indeed closing
and locking or that they have not been tampered with and rigged with traps.

What do I spy: J.C. finds via an internet auction a CIA code book if he rolls Charisma + Influence: Media, he could actually win the bid for a decent prize. The book provides justification for one dot in Cryptology and/or one dot in Conspiracy Theory.\\
