Titan’s Power — A troll grows most in power when they’re out fulfilling their duties. A troll gains an additional Bruised health level and dot of Strength when they take up their first oath, even if that takes the Trait above 5. Upon their second oath, the troll gains two extra dots of strength and two additional Bruised health levels (with a maximum total of nine health levels). See p. 264 for more on oaths.\\

Strong of Will and Body — When a troll is at her duty, nothing can stand in her way. A troll gets an extra two dice to rolls to resist being seduced, persuaded, or even magically commanded away from her cause. Trolls also cannot botch Athletics or Alertness rolls.\\

===== Backstory =====

**Physical Description:**\\
Ben appears to be in his mid-twenties. He is tall and broad with longish light brown hair. His beard is a medium length and looks generally well-kempt. He has an honest, no-nonsense look about him. His hands and clothes seem to be perpetually stained with oil or some other car fluid, and he often always has a socket wrench or other tool sticking out of a pocket. \\

In his fae mien, he is even taller...horned and blue-skinned. \\

**Personality:**\\
Ben very much believes that a man has to have a code, even if that man lives/lived outside the law. Ben holds no illusions that monsters exist on both sides of the law, and it's a code that keeps him from joining them. Because monsters exist, Ben wants to protect the few people he cares about, everyone else is on their own...the world's a hard place, bad things happen, and you can't save everyone.  \\

**Backstory:**\\
Benedict grew in a no-name town in rural Colorado. School, outside of sports, was a waste. When he was old enough, he dropped out and turned to a life of petty crime. That life was short-lived as an attempt to rob a convenience store landed in him in jail for a short while. In an effort to seem tough on this young delinquent, law enforcement opted to try Ben as an adult. \\

Incarcerations was a transformative experience for Benedict, who started going by Big B. The brutal, violent lifestyle made a kind of sense to him and he spent most of his first year keeping a low profile. During his second year, everything changed. Witnessing a fight in the yard, three beating on a much smaller, thinner guy...clearly unfair, Ben intervened. Ben didn't know the guy, had no allegiance to him, but he was sick of the unfairness of it all. He fought...fought harder than he had ever fought in his life...he fought inmates...and then when the alarms started to ring, he fought the guards. Ben received the worst beating he had ever received, and it changed him forever. \\

Like a piece of metal on a forge, the guards hammered him over and over. The beat the imperfections out of him, transforming him into something stronger. When Ben woke in the prison infirmary, everything was different. In time, he was visited by the man he had saved...who now looked even thinner, almost corpse-like. Ben remembered the man's creepy smile and raspy whisper as he explained what Ben had become, a Troll. The man, who said he was a Sluagh named Reggie, taught Ben what the basics of what it meant to be a Kithain and how not to succumb to Banality while in the big house. In exchange, Ben agreed to watch Reggie's back for the rest of their time. \\

For the rest of his time in prison, Ben devoted himself to getting out. He focused on getting his GED and learned he had a knack for machine work, which he used to get complete some classes on auto repair in hopes of getting work on the outside. Additionally, he and Reggie became close friends. After a few years, Ben was out on parole. \\

In his mortal life, he laid low...keeping a somewhat steady job and staying out of trouble, while in his kithain life, he attended meetings with radical commoner groups...many of whom wanted to recruit the young troll. Ben resisted. When his parole was up, Ben packed up his few possessions and moved to Arizona to try and make a fresh start. \\

In Arizona, Ben tried for a time to live on the straight and narrow working as a mechanic, but had a hard time making ends meet. He fell back into a life of crime, but rather than resort to robbery, he put his talent for machine work to use and got into illegal trade of car parts and quickly had a chop shop of his own. His business became even more lucrative when he teamed up with a Piskey named Winter, who provided him with a steady stream of cars. \\

Thins were good for a while, but all good things...All it took was one bad boost from Winter to bring all they had worked for to come crashing down. The fallout had turned up the heat in Phoenix for them so much, that they had no choice but to flee. This time, Ben and Winter decided to get as far away as they could, and made their way to Florida. \\
