All of Vic's enchantments center around a personal rune. This rune is surrounded either by a ring of other runes. Or by runes placed strategically on the object to be enchanted. This rune also serves as his craft mark. On some of his works the runes are hidden within the object, in others they are displayed openly. The runes can be damaged and the enchantment will still function to a certain point.

The creation of these runes is done with a personalized etching and carving set as well as an anvil that bears the rune itself.

Gemstones and Minerals

Vic utilizes the crystalline nature of gemstones to store mana and larger crystals to help direct and focus it. He uses amethyst to store mana, and quarts to direct and focus it. He has several small quarts crystals on sticks that he can attach to things to help him direct Mana through a particular path. All of the stones he uses have to be worked by his own hand, either cut, or cut and mounted to function.

Gestures:

Vic's use of hellfire centers around creating a charge and then pumping mana into it before hurling it at the enemy. This is done with a hammer. He slams his hammer on a hard surface to produce the initial charge, before growing it and then directing it at the enemy.

Circles and designs.

Vic uses magic circles to summon, bind, or ward things. He tends to use a two circle system, one to isolate himself, and one for the desired effect. He has even learned to use hellfire to quickly make his circles by simply slamming something on the ground. The circles rotate and Vic uses that rotation to change the flow of magic, performing the tasks that the ritual is designed for.

Backstory

Physical Description:
Victor is a stout man, a natural blacksmith. But his bulk hides a deep intellect and creativity. He has several scars on his face and torso from his escape from the Golden Fly, and a scar on his left cheek from a knife wound.

Personality:
Victor is somewhat brooding, but working on it. He's still not quite comfortable in his own skin, but his experience with the Golden Fly has left him seeking change in his life and his world view. Change that is slow and painful.

Backstory:
Victor was never meant to be important in his family. He was a backup. An insurance policy. He knew his family was special, powerful, connected, but he never knew how. His parents didn’t deem him worthy of knowing. His life was pointless, and as a teenager he began to rebel. This made him a prime recruitment target. He was courted and manipulated by a cult leader named Marco Vastov and his cult, the Last Light of Dawn.

Running away to join the cult he let his hatred of them simmer as he learned everything he could. Delving deeper and deeper into the cult’s mysteries he was exposed to the truth. The Last Light was a doomsday cult hellbent on kicking off a global war.

The Last Light taught him magic, taught him that he was the victim, and every act of violence he made was fighting back against his oppressors. He reveled in the ability to take back what he had always felt had been taken from him. Control.

Then he saw real conflict. Saw the Last Light attack its perceived enemies. And everything changed. He was told he had to kill children, he had to find the four year old daughter of a diplomat and end her. In that moment, something else spoke to him, he never really understood what, but another path was offered. He found the girl, and spirited her away, returning her to her father.

The Last Light lashed out at him with the same hatred it said was reserved for ‘oppressors’. In that moment he knew he had been tricked, fed garbage and agitated to do their bidding. He fought back, ran, evaded, and eventually slipped their tracking magics. He vanished into the masses of New York City, using the sheer volume of people to mask himself.

For months he hid in the train tunnels, building up wards on his person. He had heard tell of a group in florida, a council of supernatural powers that would accept people like him. Outcasts and the hunted. He just had to make it there, and he might finally be free…
