===== Backstory =====

**Physical Description:**\\
Rodens: Chews in his natural form is a very simple rat that may look slightly larger than the norm at first glance. His coat is a deep black in colouration and his eyes are alert and attentive. It is only when you look closer that you see that his ears are torn and chewed in places and the very tip of his tail looks as if it has been bitten off.

Homid: Standing at 5' 3" Chews is perfect height for stabbing most things around the waist area. He doesn't look all that impressive and his ears look like they have been attacked by rats. If seen in this form he is usually seen wearing a pair of solid new rocks, thick leather jacket and a pair of loose fitting jeans. Hair wise is black and often gelled into points.

If it isn't nailed down... Chews is probably going to steal it and then run away with his ill gotten gains. Its almost like an impulsion to collect and the shinier the object the better.

Outside of having sticky fingers for all things not welded to the floor, Chews is pretty intimidating for a rat and isn't afriad to put bullies in their place with a swift stab to the nuts with his Pain Dagger. What? He is small has arms for days (At least by Ratkin standards). Most of the time though he is pretty mild mannered and enjoys spending his time beatign up domestic cats often arranging "Cat Fights" amongst his colony.

**Backstory:**\\
Chews came from a Pentex lab that was working on testing a new drug to enhance soldiers on the battlefield. They had tested all kinds of weird stimulants to enhance strength and reflexes which is in part why he is why he like he is as a Ratkin today. He was coming to the end of his usefulness as a test subject and the scientists in the lab were preparing to exterminate their older subjects when a group of fuzzy activists raided and started smashing up the place... something that he was soon to grow quite familiar with in the years to come in his rodenty life. Alass at the time he was just content to watch the destruction and bloodshed around him as well as listening to the quiet screams as giant creatures lay waste to everything around him. When all was quiet and his cage dripped blood, the invaders started pulling rats out of their cages and stuffing them carefully into boxes. Chews was one of them... and at first he was scared and the reaching hand got a swift bite much to the owners ire... this got him thrown into the box rather forcefully with a loud squeaking sound.

They were later all emptied into a large 'run' and surrounded by strange individuals all with rather strange looking faces that didn't seem quite normal. They all talked amongst themselves and then they climbed into the pen with the gathering of rats. All of whom were pressing away from the strange people. Then one by one they turned into rats of their own and were amongst them all... panic ensued... rats tried to claw their way out. But the strangers just ran amock and started biting everyone violently. It was over faster than you could blink leaving Chews wounded... sore and to be frank scared judging by the smell of piss that surrounded them all.

Then it hit. Every rat within the pen started to go mad. Some started clawing at their own faces... some started attacking one another. It was a literal blood bath of rat carnage within the pen. Not many rats were left... only 5 out of 150. Things were to be different for the survivors at this point for they had gained a new perspective on things... new trains of thought and most importantly the will to do what was neccessary.

Chews was selected out to train as what was known as a Blade Slave mostly because of his strength and ability to move quite swiftly. He was also quick to learn the use of various different pointy objects and using them to great effect. Eventually he grew bored of training against other rodents and worked with others to start capturing local domestic felines... putting them in a ring and forcing them to fight to the death which often filled the other rats with a strange and morbid delight. 

Their little colony was soon found out by Pentex agents looking for more test subjects and what was more attractive than a bunch of rats that had a collection of cat parts around them. Well... it didn't go well for both sides. The Pentex agents were dealt with but the colony was in effect screwed and they were forced to disperse. Taking his own small group of kin, Chews would head off to the wilds and the unknown to seek fortune, glory... or a good place to fuck and sleep. Who knows. Maybe he'd find friends. The adventure continues.

• Buff and Tough: All Ratkin Warriors get an extra Health Level for muscle mass. (Draw in a square above the Bruised Level, and write the world "Tough" next to it.) Some Rat Mothers prefer to breed and raise their children specifically for war, taking pride in the prowess of their offspring. 
• Blood Lust: Warriors frenzy more easily than most Ratkin (or even many other shapechangers). The difficulty for their Rage rolls is always 5, regardless of the phase of the moon, direction of the wind, day of the week, or any other factor. In addition, resisting frenzy requires the expenditure of two Willpower points, not one. 

Pain-Dagger
Level One, Gnosis 6

The Pain Dagger is a sacred blade crafted from something
of significance to the Blade Slave and bound with
a spirit of war, of disease, or of pain. It is an expression of
the purity of a Ratkin’s devotion to the Warrior Aspect.
The blade is only used in battle; once it is drawn, the
Warrior’s pride is at stake. Only a Blade Slave can own
and bond to a Pain Dagger — stealing one from a Warrior
is tantamount to stealing a piece of their soul, and
any non-Warrior to own a Pain Dagger will not live to
know the prize they have stolen. The Blade Slave must
treat the spirit inside the blade with respect or face a
significant loss of Renown.
Drawing a Pain-Dagger takes a point of Gnosis, which
automatically activates the fetish. It’s an easy weapon
to use — the difficulty to attack with it is 5, and it deals
Strength + 1 aggravated damage to anything except the
wererat bonded to the Pain-Dagger.
Some Pain-Daggers allow the wererat to use a Charm
of the spirit bound within. Each Charm increases the Pain
Dagger’s level by one. The wererat must take two dots of
the Fetish Background per Charm. Each use requires an
activation roll for the fetish. Any of the following charms
are available if the character has bound an appropriate spirit:
Airt Sense, Armor, Blast, Create Fires, Create Wind, Freeze,
Shatter Glass, Short Out, or Tracking. Use the successes
on the activation roll in place of any required roll or spirit
Traits — Armor or Freeze would use the successes in lieu
of the spirit’s Rage or Gnosis, Shatter Glass or Tracking
work as normal as long as the Fetish activation succeeds.
