-=== Requesting Renown: === +
- +
-Characters can only gain 1 full point in each category per month. +
- +
-Players are responsible for putting in their own renown requests, in the month that the action has happened. You cannot 'save' a renown request from July and put it in August because you're already over the 1 full point cap.  +
-//**If you forget, that renown is lost. Please put those requests in as quickly as possible so you do not miss out.**//+

Retirement: If you retire a character and your 25% refund for a new werewolf character causes you to start with 100xp or more you may start play as a Fostern character, however please note this will require an accompanying backstory that is more detailed than we would ask of a Cliath backstory. Also your character will be a bit older than most cliaths as a result due to their enhanced training. Retirement: If you retire a character and your 25% refund for a new werewolf character causes you to start with 100xp or more you may start play as a Fostern character, however please note this will require an accompanying backstory that is more detailed than we would ask of a Cliath backstory. -=== Renown and Rank: ===+----
 +===== New Ranking system =====
 +
+We have been trying for years now to update the renown system for our game.  But it simply hasn’t worked.  Part of it is moots being rare as they’re so time consuming to run.  As well as it has still been hard for people to gain and maintain for renown.  This will also help with fera as it means they won’t have to leave the area as much, making it easier for player and ST.
 +
 +
+As such we are completely removing renown entirely from the game and making it based on XP.
 +
 +
 +**XP and Rank**
 +
 +
+To determine when you can challenge for a rank, you must be at or above the amount of XP in the table below.
 +
 +^ Rank ^ Base Cap ^
 +| **Fostern** | 150 XP |
 +| **Adren** | 300 XP |
 +| **Athro** | 450 XP |
 +| **Elder** | 600 XP |
 +
+This cap, will be tracked by each of your characters as it can be increased and decreased.
 +
+You must still do a rank challenge and complete the rank challEnge to achieve the rank.  In addition the minimum time between each rank is still maintained.
 +
+The rank of elder can only be achieved via main stage, and can only go down to 550 XP through this system.
 +
 +
 +
 +**Cap increasing:**
 +
+The cap can increase based on negative actions.  This would previously bring down your renown, but now it increases the XP cap.   If the XP cap goes above your current XP amount, you will lose the same things as if your renown went below the minimum renown amount.
 +
+Anytime you would lose renown, instead, the cap for each rank will be increased by a factor of:
 +
 +^ Cap increase factor ^
+| 5 times the amount of renown lost |
 +
 +
+For example Rite of ostracism would cost you 1 glory, 5 honor and 1 wisdom.  For a total of 7 renown.   In this system, you take that and times it by 5 to have the xp cap increased by 35 xp
 +
 +**Cap decreasing:**
 +
+You can also decrease the cap by doing things that would traditionally increase your renown. To prevent abuse of this system, things that were normally simple and easy to do for renown, won’t be considered for a cap decrease. It will apply to actions that truly stand out for the character. The cap decreasing and amount will be decided by the ST and by how much.
 +
 +^ Cap decrease factor ^
+| Only for outstanding actions |
+| The amount of cap decrease shall be decided by the ST |
 +
 +
 +===== Gifts =====

-We are using the Renown Sample Awards from the book. (If you think you have done something worthy of renown but do not see a matching listing in the book, please feel free to ask the STs. We will happily suggest something for you to put in if it is worthy.)+For gifts that have renown component? It is instead replaced by 2 times your rank

-However as you gain rank, you are expected to do more and as such the amount of renown you earn for your actions is less.

-You will put in your renown requests as normal, using the suggested renown from STs for scenes or building your request from the Sample Awards in the book, then apply the modifier below yourself before actually submitting the request.+===== Rites =====

+For rites that would make you lose your renown, instead follow the cap increase.

-Some renown rewards will still be honored for the full amount! Some of those rewards are not on the sample renown list in the book but will be suggested by the STs at the time it happens.

-//**Examples of these might be the renown for leading a group of Garou into battle and bringing back everyone alive.**//+For rites that would increase your renown, it will depend now on what the rite is and how it’s done, but usually low level rituals won’t yield a cap decrease
