One stack of papers consists of a set of hand written notes on the Catacombs, the Cavern beneath them, and the layout of both.

The Starke Catacombs

The following notes are written in Cicoro's handwriting.

Created by Amadeus Starke in the early seventeen hundreds the Starke Catacombs served as his hideaway in the new world. He spent his long life gathering artifacts and knowledge of all of the world's many supernatural beings.

From what I have gathered. Starke was convinced that, since each different type of supernatural has some divine touch that separates them from mortal men, combining the power of these different powers and distilling them could aid Starke in his attempts to ascend to godhood.

His research continued for nearly a century, in which time he gathered specimens from every major supernatural group, some of which are still locked in stasis in the catacombs. However, some seem to have broken loose.

The Catacombs

The upper levels of Starke's holding consist of a series of rooms. Each room was originally dedicated to a specific research goal, and are clearly made with magic. This magic keeps the water out, since most of the catacombs lie in the water table, even if the cavern beneath is mostly dry.

Despite each room being focused on a research goal, they are haphazardly organized. Moreover they are disheveled and it seems that in his waning years Starke went quite mad, and objects that clearly belong to one research project are often found in the chamber for another. This makes organizing his work quite difficult.

The Caverns

Deep below the catacombs lie the Starke Caverns. A massive underground tunnel complex that stretches nearly to Gainesville in the west. The tunnels are part magical creation, part natural feature. They served as initial storage for the many relics and artifacts that Starke collected in his early life. Many of those relics remain buried there. His notes tell of 'the guardian' that he bound to the place at the height of his power.

I have not been to the caverns, having gone no deeper than the third level of the catacombs. But the mind boggles at the wealth that must be stored there.
