Participating PCs:
Synopsis:
The battle with the Eater of Souls begins. But things do not go the way anyone planned. Half of the Uktena and half of the Wendigo join the battle. But when the rite finishes, and Kukulkan is about to start chasing. The Eater of Souls turns to fight. It seems that the day they agreed to, is today. They must kill the beast, or at least wound it enough to disable it
This scene will be comprised of two rooms. One where the big players fight at the head of the beast, and a second room where lower XP pcs fight the fly like slugs that cover its body along its left side. Garou swarm over the creature and Kukulkan, Turtle, and Elders of the Wendigo and Uktena tribes, as well as the elder Teomallki, battle on it's back, trying to tear it open to free the Croatan ancestor spirits.

The Eater of Souls has 5 dots in brawl, and 10 dots in strength, and Stamina. It has only 3 dots in dexterity, and only ever dodges with 3 dice, due to its size. It can soak agg damage with no bane material, but it's bite is hideously powerful. Dealing Strength +8 dice in damage. If it kills someone, they are devoured body and soul, never to be seen again unless the beast is cut open.

It's true strength is it's seventy five health levels. And inability to sense pain and therefor no wound penalties. So all of these health levels are treated as bruised. It is easy to hit, hard to hurt, and you have to keep hurting it for a long time before it drops.

It only has a wits 2, Int 1, and charisma 0. As well as zero dots in social skills. It's bite is only lethal damage however. But it deals massive amounts of it with a successful bite.

It has several powerful special abilities. The first is a banshee like wail. This scream does five soakable health levels of lethal damage to anyone in the same room as it's head. It can only wail once when the encounter starts. But it can wail again for every thirty health levels it loses. This wail is a powerful entropic effect, and the necromancy spell storm shield protects from it, as does an entropic shield effect.

It's second ability is a powerful tremor effect. It slams it's head into the ground and causes a localized earthquake that forces a Diff 8 dex + athletics check. Anyone who fails, falls prone and takes 3 lethal damage from the force of the impact. This damage can be soaked. The round after it does this it releases four corrupt spirits from it's hideous mouth that attack nearby opponents. Treat them as powerful spirits from the Mummy core book.

It's last ability is to spawn smaller versions of itself. These grub like creatures are about two feet long and have four insect like wings. They are much like the eater, but smaller and far less powerful. They have a total of five health levels, 2 dots in brawl, and strength dex and stamina scores of 3. Unfortunately he spawns them twenty at a time. And can do so frequently. They must be fought or anyone attacking the eater will quickly be overwhelmed.

The Encounter

The encounter begins with the playing of a song to attract the Eater of Souls. This song ends up being AC/DC's Thunderstruck because it can forge a metaphysical connection to Kukulkan, as he is the thunderbird. The power of the countersong culminates in Kukulkan calling down a huge bolt of lightning that strikes in front of the eater, bring it to a stop. When it stops, the rite is broken, and the Croatan spirits are freed, but very confused. The Eater of Souls wails and immediately dilates time around Kukulkan, moving in for the kill. The PCs and NPCs must turn him aside, and protect Kukulkan till the time is up. This takes five rounds, but every twenty health levels lost in the fighting reduces the number of rounds remaining by one, as the wounded beast finds its concentration disrupted by repeat buffeting and injury.

As the battle begins Turtle charges at the side of the beast, slamming her huge shell into it. The Eater of Souls tries to bite her but Roberto, Walking Funny, and Moon Runner, the alpha of the Wendigo Sept aiding the Uktena, counter attack, along with Fred, Heath, and several other Wendigo NPCs. Fred uses Thor's might to pull a huge tree from the ground, battering the giant beast with it. The combined might of the Sept Alphas and Garou, along with Roberto and his powerful magics, turn the Eater of Souls away long enough for Turtle to bite the beast's side, tearing a great hole in it. Croatan spirits begin to pour out just as the slugs begin to rain on them and the battle is truly started.

Just as Kukulkan is freed, the new right begins to take hold. But the right requires a sacrifice no one was aware of but Kukulkan and Roberto. That being Roberto himself. He hugs his daughter, Sophia, gives her a necklace that belonged to her mother, and takes his place atop Kukulkan, and another tremendous bolt of lightning strikes the beast. It rears its head and Roberto separates his spirit from his body, allowing his body to fall into the beast's huge maw. The spirit remains with Kukulkan, and the two begin to chase the eater of souls as it flees, wounded, bleeding, and howling in pain.

All around the PCs there are Croatan spirits that fell out of the wound in the eater's side, and several dozen trail off along its path of escape. They will need help, healing, and support.
