Description

Physical Description:
Standing around 5'9ft tall with a slightly lithe build, Tammy would look like your average looking guy, with pale skin, blue eyes that are sharply paranoid, and black hair that is usually in a messy bundle. His clothes though, he rarely changes out of his work clothes, being some overalls and a jumpsuit, with a dirty old worker's license from his old job on his hip, and his current license covered up in his breast pocket.
Backstory:
Tammy grew up in Orlando, his parents moving from Chengedu for better business opportunities made by their company. With this move, it made Tammy become isolated, his parents only bringing him outside a few times before they had to work overtime at home. To deal with this forced isolation, Luong attached himself to his parents achievements, working hard at school and getting an interest in machinery when he was 16 because of a new introduction to robotics and computers (which was around 2010). When college came around, he took a degree in engineering, though couldn't find much opportunity, so he took a job as a factory machinist for a low wage.

A decade past, nothing but monotonous work to keep food on the table as Tam was left lonely, his parents being disappointed in the end results of his work, and not interacting with his coworkers just felt all the more lonely. Then the imbuing happened. While walking home from work, there seemed to be a street brawl between two groups, it just seemed like a couple of druggies yelling at each other. It almost caused Lu to fall over when he saw one of them was a monster, a creature made of rotting flesh that suddenly yelled and punched into one of the bangers, crushing his chest. Tammy felt something in his head as his body seemed to move on its own, digging his nails into his temple before he ran over, pushing one of the gangsters away to run while he suddenly froze once all the gang members dispersed.

The monster didn't even see him as it passed by, the sound it made when it got near Tammy was the sound of screeching metal over and over again in his head. He fell over once it was finally gone, afraid of what was going on. The next day was even worse. He lived near a busy street, so seeing all the people there, it suddenly made him jump, his skin crawling horribly while just trying to understand what was going on with him. Luong just thought that he had finally lost it from work and tried to call his doctor, yet the phone only spouted out static, giving him a few words. "THE DEAD SHALL NOT DESTROY THE LIVING." It made him destroy his smartphone as he tried to understand his situation with no avail.

Things only got weirder as Tam couldn't fall asleep, struggling to not be scared by every little shadow. It took three days before he passed out, and suddenly, he felt like he was floating, still feeling everything but was just drifting in the wind like a piece of paper. When he awoke, he practiced with this new power, becoming more adept, though it didn't help reassure the crisis he was feeling. The weird voices were contacting him every day once a few more weeks, giving him advice on hundreds of paths of what he was supposed to do, he was at his breaking point. His only solace was when he found the hunternet via spotting a symbol on a computer in a dark apartment when he was using his power to scout around his neighborhood, and trace the website back towards the hunternet. Tam was able to grieve to his fellow members, even though he never really got into one of their clicks, instead becoming a lurker, only posting a few times about his troubles and watching the replies come in.

One day on the forums, he saw something about Strake, a town he has rarely heard about, but it was near his area. It described the monsters moving about, and Tammy took it as a chance to finally try and understand what his purpose was when he discovered these creatures. Taking the bus (since he no longer trusted himself to drive once the voices kept chiming in), he arrived at Starke without telling anyone, not even his parents, getting another factory job to try and stabilize himself in this new community, even though he barely talks to anyone.

It has been two months since he has been in Starke, still confused on his purpose as he developed a powerful strike once he was afraid of being trapped in his new (and smaller) apartment. Lu has seen consistent reports of others hunters having the same powers, but having a strong purpose. The Messengers (learned the term from the hunternet) didn't really help either. He only hopes that he can find his place, otherwise, he will go back to his being a weak cog in a machine like he was before, wasting this opportunity...

Additional Notes:
Merits: Becoming a factory worker has benefited Tammy in his field of practical experience. And with that practical experience, he has gained an Acute Sense, using his eyes to carefully handle machinery, and anything else that needs attention to detail, applying this sense to things outside of work.

Flaws: Growing up, his parents had a strict moral code, having Luong confess to anything he did wrong, making him Honest to a Fault. His same parents also made him lonely, unsure of himself and Nonconfrontational as well as Socially Oblivious, rarely standing up for himself around others, almost to the point of not getting ahead in work since he didn't want to anger the boss. With these social insecurities, he has a Low Self-Esteem and rarely thinks what he does has much meaning of talent. This hasn't been helped with the imbuing, making him feel worse when he doesn't have purpose, like he is a screw up despite the powerful gift that was given to him.

Backgrounds Arsenal: Tammy stocked pile weapons for a few years now, doing so before just to practice his shooting at the range when he felt really down. Now they are usually the thing that gives him the most solace, usually keeping a rifle and pistol ready for when a monster, like that undead gangster, tries to come to his house. He also keeps some high powered binoculars and suppressors.

Resources: While his machinist job is on the lower paying time, it is still a good enough wage to earn him a decent apartment. Besides from that, Tammy keeps things cheap, mostly just having old laptops and smartphones, stockpiling cans and boxes of food, and reserving the money for protection.

Allies: Amira Abad is a worker at the factory that Tammy works at. A good friend that has gone out of her way to try and be a friend towards Luong despite his nervousness with people. She will usually just help Tam with a few projects of his, him wanting to keep an arm's length when it comes to what he does and not getting involved.

Contacts: Michy Qins is low in status at the building he works at in Starke, so he will usually just hang around town without much thought on his authority. That's how he met Tammy, not particularly getting close, but they keep each other posted on the events going in their field as a friendly gesture to one another as they meet up.

Patron: The messengers seemed to have forced their way down into Tammy's very psyche. They always chime in, each passing word making him worried about every action he takes. Luong does try to listen, though in the chaos, his emotions become mixed on what to focus (i.e, not really focusing on what his path is in virtue/edge). He just hopes that this interest from the Herald means he can do something with his power.

Certification: Besides from the basics, Tammy has had an extensive check on his gun stash and has documentation to keep the weaponry. The other identification is his job and a passport he has to China.
