Level Two Thaumaturgy Ritual

This ritual allows the Thaumaturge to create potions which raise an attribute by one dot, up to their generational limits for the duration of a scene.

Additionally, this ritual may allow the Thaumaturge to create additional varieties of potions, at the ST's discretion.

For instance, the following varieties have already been sanctioned:

  • Truth Serum: Provides a +2 penalty to Subterfuge rolls on the drinker for a scene, all other potion rules apply.
  • Potion of Euphoria: Induces euphoria in the drinker; all Social rolls made to persuade or otherwise convice the drinker are at -2 difficulty for the scene, all other potion rules apply.
  • Potion of Cure Minor Wounds: Heals target for a number of Bashing/Lethal health levels equal to half the successes scored on the ritual roll. Target may only drink one potion per scene.

The creator of these potions may have a number of them active at any one time equal to 1/2 their Thaumaturgy rating, rounded up. However, the following rules apply:

  • You may not have more than any one potion active that affects or increases your Attributes at any one time (i.e. Potion of Dexterity or Potion of Stamina, not both).
  • You may only have one of any kind of potion affecting your person at one time (i.e. Potion of Extra Action and Potion of Hunter's Seeking, not Potion of Extra Action x2).

Others can only have one of these in effect at a time. If they drink another, it will cancel out the effects of the previous potion.

Additionally, you may only ever have up to your Thaumaturgy level in potions of any one kind at any one time (i.e. 4 Potions of Strength at Thaum 4).

To clarify, Potions of Cure Minor Wounds (and other levels of same) do not count against the number of 'active' potion(s) applied, as they are instant-use, not long-term.
