Ravaging/Musing Threshold:
Silence Dissent

Antithesis:
Recklessly pursuing a goal without thought due to idealism

Birthrights:
Charismatic Presence (Manipulation): At character creation, the player can give the Sevartal an extra dot in any of their Social Attributes. Sevartal cannot botch rolls made with the augmented attribute.
Unearthly Beauty: Sidhe stand out in a crowd due to their beauty and regal bearing. Sidhe recieve two additional dots of Appearance, even if this brings them above 5. When they invoke the Wyrd, this beauty becomes overpowering. If a sidhe invokes the Wyrd in the presence of a character, the player must roll Willpower (Difficulty 8). If that roll fails, the character can only stare in awestruck wonder at the sidhe for one turn for each dot of the sidhe's Appearance.

Frailty:
Curse of Banality: While the commoner kiths have learned to make their peace with the mortal world and live within it, the Arcadian Sidhe still live with their minds and hearts in the Dreaming. As such, they are even more susceptible to Banality. Each point of Banality a sidhe would receive becomes two.

House Boon:
The Blooded’s willingness to accept even the most unpleasant tasks without complaint is made manifest in their house boon, along with one of the prime reasons they are so widely feared by other fae. While touching cold iron causes a Balor mild discomfort, she does not lose Glamour from handling it, nor from being struck by it. Members even have a slim chance to soak damage from cold iron sources (difficulty 10). However, cold iron still inflicts aggravated damage on the Blooded, and death by cold iron destroys a Balor’s soul the same as any other changeling.

House Flaw:
Balor’s Gleam. Your eyes glow with a baleful red light, not unlike the legendary beam of destruction attributed to the founder of House Balor. Although this appears sinister and foreboding, the perpetual redness only serves to make the eyes extremely sensitive to both natural and artificial light. You usually don dark glasses to venture outside, even on the dimmest days. Others who know of your condition refuse to meet your eyes and often conduct their business with you while standing out of your direct line of sight.

Description

Physical Description:
Emrys stands at 6’4” Tall and 165 lbs, with a slender, yet toned physique. His long, smooth white blonde hair reaches to nearly the middle of his back. His eyes are a bright and unearthly crimson, even in his mortal Mien. Due to his peculiar eyes, he often wears aviator style sunglasses, even when it is night or when indoors because even artificial light can pain them. Without them most light is painful and they lend his gaze an intensity that few can bear easily.

His general manner of dress is business casual. He often wears a crimson dress shirt with black jeans and black leather ankle boots. On his right hand he wears a signet ring bearing the seal of House Balor. He carries himself with a disciplined, regal bearing. He is of noble blood and that lofty heritage carries through in his every movement.

Fae Mien:
In his Fae Mien, the regality of his being is all the more apparent. Upon his brow rests a spiked crown of black iron and he is dressed wearing elegant, silken black robes, in the manner of the Fomorian nobles of old. His eyes radiate a bright, blood red light as well, hearkening back to the image of Balor himself.

Character Bio: (Short-hand version of Character History. Think: what would she tell about herself in a dinner party?)

Backstory:
Before Emrys stood as a formidable noble of House Balor, he was once a mere mortal. He was born as Emrys ap Aneirin on December 9, 1993 to Aneirin ap Brynmor and Cerys ab Delwyn. His parents were immigrants to America from Wales, and they managed to establish for themselves a solidly upper middle class life in Ann Arbor, Michigan. He was always a bright lad, fascinated with history, legends, and philosophy. However, he wasn’t a mere book nerd, as he grew into a tall and slender man of great beauty and deep passions. His parents were able to ensure that he would receive a fine education, with Emrys having went to Princeton University. There he studied both History and Philosophy, with the intention of using his degrees to enter law school. However, it was during this time that his more peculiar qualities came to fruition.

It was during the December of 2015 that he awoke to his Sidhe nature. He had been seeing strange sights for some time over the past couple months and he had begun to worry that he was going mad. Seemingly ordinary buildings would for a moment transform into grand palaces and castles, a clear sky would suddenly have dragons and other mythical creatures flying around, and his ordinary reflection would sometimes twist and stare back at him with malevolent, glowing red eyes.

After one such instance of his twisted reflection, he left his apartment and went out for a walk at a park on one December evening in an attempt to clear his mind. As he walked, admiring the cold and austere beauty of the winter landscape, he was wracked with a sudden pain in his eyes. They felt almost as if they were on fire and the pain drove him to his knees in the cold snow. As he knelt in agony, they shifted in color, changing from a beautiful blue, to a deep crimson. They had been remade in the image of Balor and as they transformed, he was suddenly flooded with visions and memories of past existences. He saw fragmented images of the Fomorians, of his life among the Balor in Arcadia, of his past life here on Earth and of friendships with twisted creatures which he would later recognize as Thallain.

As he knelt in this agonized state, recalling his history, waves of raw glamour poured out of the newly awakened Sidhe. Nightmarish Chimera were born forth as he recalled more and more of his monstrous past. Dragons, Manticores, and Fomorian monstrosities all spread forth and made their way across the city. One such drake, one of medium size with pure white scales and large horns stayed with the young Sidhe, watching over him. This dragon protected him then from any other Chimera that might harm him in his vulnerable state, and continues to do so to this very day.

He did have some fortune however, and was found by an Eshu of the Unseelie Court before anything more unsavory could set upon him. He was brought to the local Changeling Court and handed over to the Sidhe of his House. From them, it was one Gareth Balor who was selected to foster Emrys. Gareth focused on honing Emrys’s already notable intellect and social skills, seeing in him the potential for a great operative for the cause of the House of Balor, as well as that of the Shadow Court, of which Gareth was a member. Gareth planted all the proper seeds for Emrys to join the Shadow Court, teaching him its doctrines in secret along with those of the Unseelie and helping him forge all the right connections. However, Gareth eventually met his demise by the blade of a Sidhe Noble from House Gwydion. While Emrys was able to avenge the death of his Mentor, it left him with a strong dislike of the Gwydion and he eventually came to view them as emblematic of all that is wrong with the Seelie Court. After this, he set out abroad to perform the will of House Balor and the Shadow Court across the country, constantly learning more as he did so.

During this time he met and worked with many of the Baylor’s traditional allies amongst the Prodigals and Thallain. He has hunted with packs of Black Spiral Dancers and Fomori, schemed with Sevartal and fought alongside the Huaka’i Po. He learned much in this time, and quickly transitioned from a Childling to a Wilder. He retains one close connection from this time, a Sevartal by the name of Urien Severius. They work together often to uncover more of the Balor’s Fomorian nature and seek methods to bring that even further to the fore, along with seeking to bring about Winter. Already their research has borne some fruit, with Emrys developing some traditionally Sevartal characteristics through his repeated delving into the darker side of the Kithain and the nightmare side of the Dreaming. These nightmarish experiments has resulted in him becoming a deceiver and trickster nearly without peer, and they are capabilities well used in his service to the Shadow Court as he weaves ever more intricate webs of deception and intrigue.

Emrys came to hold a strong distaste for the Seelie Court as he adventured and learned more of the world. He came to view their stubborn refusal to uphold the traditional changing of courts with the seasons and forcing Winter back as the reason that the coming Winter will be as bad as it is. To his mind, the Fae must fortify for it and then bring it on, for the longer it is delayed, the worse it will be. For this reason, he has become a devoted agent of the Shadow Court, earning much renown in their shadowy ranks for his past infiltrations and undermining of the various Seelie courts. Now he makes his way to the humble city of Starke. The Fae are leaderless and the local nobility hold little power. This provides much opportunity for one such as Emrys and he seeks to exploit it to the fullest in the name of the Shadow Court.
