Cannot Enter Holy Ground: 3 points
Function: Character feels crippling nausea and discomfort when near holy ground. Attempting to actually set foot on holy ground result in one point of aggravated damage per turn. Further, the character suffers damage from coming into contact with sanctified objects, such as blessed crosses and holy water. This is all regardless of Torment level.
Flavor: This does not necessarily have to be due to guilt or feelings of regret from the war, despite what the book says. They may just be completely unrepentant about their role in the war instead. It is, after all, possible to be both Low Torment and a supporter of Lucifer.
WARNING:: This flaw cannot be bought off only with EXP. It WILL require a scene reward of some kind in addition to EXP being spent. The will of God is not easily subverted!

Cursed by God: 1-5 points
Function: Severity of the Curse is dependent upon the number of points taken. See page 84 of Demon: The Fallen: Player's Guide for details.
Flavor: Your character has done something during the War of Heaven to earn special attention from God. State what this is in your character's background.
WARNING:: This flaw cannot be bought off only with EXP. It WILL require a scene reward of some kind in addition to EXP being spent. The will of God is not easily subverted!

Infamy: 2 points
Function: Your fellow demons must roll Legacy upon learning your Celestial Name. If successful, they know what your character did during the War, and will be less likely to trust you.
Flavor: Your character has done something during the War that would cause your fellow Fallen to question your loyalty. Perhaps they attempted to defect back to the Loyalists, they deserted, or maybe their liege is now an infamous Earthbound.
WARNING:: Taking this Flaw makes buying more dots in the Eminence background incredibly difficult if anyone in the Infernal Court's hierarchy leans of your character's past. You may only buy off this flaw with EXP if you have earned the trust of your fellow demons in-character and have reassured them of your loyalty to the cause.

Hunted: 4 points
Function: A fanatical demon hunter is after you. They will go after you in any way they can, up to and including targeting your allies, your thralls, and anyone you associate with.
Flavor: The difference between this flaw and four points in the Enemy flaw is that this enemy may not necessarily be supernatural, but no less dangerous. Supernatural variants of the Hunter this flaw is associated with could be a high-ranking Imbued, a fanatical member of the Celestial Chorus, or perhaps even one of the Sabbat Inquistion. Non-supernatural variants could include members of the Society of Leopold, often with ties to government agencies that can make your life miserable.
WARNING: Killing the Hunter does not make this Flaw go away. After dealing with the Hunter, you will be given a chance to buy off the Flaw with EXP. If you do not, or cannot buy off the Flaw within two weeks of dealing with the Hunter, another Hunter will take his or her place, and you'll have to try again. But who knows? Maybe you'll think that's fun.

Probationary Faction Member: 4 points
Function: Your fellow demons do not trust you and are hesitant to associate with you, lest it damage their own standing with the Court. You are at a +2 difficulty to all social rolls involving demons from the faction you are trying to join.
Flavor: Infamy's even worse big brother. Your fellow demons know who you are and where you've come from without needing to roll Legacy. Perhaps you used to serve an Earthbound, or maybe you're a particularly outspoken and radical Reconciler.
WARNING: Much like with Infamy, you cannot buy off this Flaw until you have done something in-character to prove your loyalty, at ST discretion. You also cannot buy any dots in the Eminence background after character creation so long as you have this Flaw.

Changed Flaws

Monstrous Connections: 2 points or 4 points
Function: Your character has to deal with a high-Torment demon on a regular basis. Maybe it's a family member, maybe it's your character's boss. Whatever the case, you can't just choose not to associate with them any longer. While this demon may not necessarily be an enemy, they are still in a position to really mess with you if they wanted to.
WARNING: This connection becoming public will raise more than a few eyebrows, from your fellow demons and other supernaturals in Starke alike. Even if your Monstrous Connection may not necessarily be an enemy to Starke, high-Torment demons are about as popular here as low-Humanity vampires are. Which is to say... not very.
Changes: I've added a 4 point version. The 4 point version means that your Monstrous Connection is not only a high-Torment demon, but an Earthbound. Why your character is serving an Earthbound is entirely up to you; perhaps they know your True Name, or perhaps your character simply knew them from before the war, and for whatever reason, still chooses to associate with them out of a sense of loyalty. Note that this version will all but certainly result in alienation from the Infernal Court and other supernaturals regarding you with extreme suspicion if not outright hostility.

True Reflection: 3 points. (Up from 1 point in the book)
Function: Your reflection (in a mirror, in a photograph, on camera, etc.) reveals your Apocalyptic Form instead of your host's normal appearance, regardless of whether or not you are actually in your Apocalyptic Form.
Changes: I have changed this Flaw due to the fact that in the year 2019, in a world of smartphones and surveillance cameras in pretty much every public space, this is a much more dangerous flaw to take than it was when the book was written. Taking this flaw all but guarantees that Hunters, or worse, an Earthbound will catch a whiff of your character and come after you, and the Infernal Court will not take kindly to someone putting the rest of them at risk by breaking the Veil.

Banned Flaws

  • Ancient Animosity: This is basically a carbon copy of the Enemy flaw. Use that instead.
  • Sunday Driver: Completely worthless flaw that can't actually harm your character in this game.
