Back to Altair Ogram Ashkabaken

Altair's enchantments.

Altair has studied hard and has begun enchanting items with simple magics.

Altair's modified Udjat Amulet
Altair makes an Udjat Amulet that can accept both the normal amulet ritual and an enchantment to bolster it. A second layer of protection against mental intrusion.

Face in the crowd jacket
This army surplus jacket is enchanted to give the wearer an additional 2 dots of Arcane when worn, but only when surrounded by mortals in a crowd of ten or more. Altair has made modified versions that work off a hoodie as well.

Skill tiles
Altair enchants simple clay tiles with egyptian hieroglyphs tied to different abilities. When the tile is snapped in half it provides a 3 die bonus to the next roll made with that ability. Only one tile can be used to buff a specific ability in a given scene, and such buffs do not stack. Each success on the Occult + Enchantment roll creates 1 tile.

Wonder Woman Bracers
Altair can make sets of bracers that help in protecting against bullets. When worn and not covered by clothing, the wearer can forfeit a dodge roll against bullets, instead using the bracers to soak the rounds. The bracers can soak a total of 10 health levels of damage before breaking. The wearer forfeits the dodge roll, and the attacker rolls damage. Subtracting health levels from the bracers. Any left in excess of the bracer's 10, are applied to the wearer with a second soak roll to prevent them.

Dragonscale Bracer
This steel bracer functions as a normal bracer, allowing the wearer to deflect bladed weapons. This allows him to roll Dex+Martial arts(Hema) to block attacks with his bracer. But only attacks with swords or knives.
Additionally the bracers are engraved with a pattern of dragonscales. Each dragonscale section can be enchanted with a rune that improves his soaks. When he is required to make a soak roll against damage from an external source, he can choose to expend a rune, doing so adds 3 dice to the soak roll, and burns that scale, turning it black. When all of the scales have turned black the bracer crumbles and a new one must be made.
Each roll to enchant scales takes 1 temp willpower, and a number of scales can be enchanted equal to the successes on the roll. The bracer has a total of 24 scales. When a scale is expended it cannot be re-enchanted.

Upon reaching enchantment 3, the bracer becomes capable of soaking aggravated damage.

Eye of Thoth talisman
Fashioned like the normal talismans he wears, and kept on the same part of his belt, this metallic device resembles a closed eye of Thoth. There is a thumb lever on the back that allows Altair to open the eye. When opened the eye bestows extra sensory perceptions on the wearer. The wearer can see auras, magic, or other supernatural entities or objects. This perception is not precise enough however to determine what they are. Only a hint that something or someone is not mundane. The enchantment must be renewed on the 1st of each month. And works one time per success rolled. Once all uses are expended it can be renewed again.

Apis Talisman
This small Obsidian, Gold, and Electrum talisman attaches to Altair's talisman belt. Contained with in is a small reservoir of bull blood, and the disk between the bull's horns functions as an activation lever. When the device is unlocked, by pressing firmly on a button on the bottom, the disk can be manipulated to force blood from the internal reservoir into the bull's face, blooding the talisman. When this happens the talisman grants a 3 dot bonus to strength and all benefits therein for supernaturally high attributes, for a single scene. This benefit does not, however, stack with other magic effects that increase strength, such as talismans. This effect lasts for a scene, and the bull can be used a number of times equal to the successes rolled on the enchantment roll before it must be re-enchanted.

Warning Pendant
This small pendant provides a warning to a specific individual when someone is in danger. For it to work, the individual you want to know needs to submerge the pendant in wine, and then place it on your body. From that point it will function until it triggers, after which it must be dipped in wine again and placed back on you by the person you want to know. When you are in immediate danger of physical harm, the pendant will warn the person who performed the ritual. A few moments before the person is physically harmed, the person who performed the ritual will become aware that you are in danger. This lead time rarely is more than two seconds.
