Character Bio: A Smith by trade, Richy is always down to put down his hammer to fight the good fight. There are a lot of things that go bump in the night and he is one of the few that can bump back.

Description: 6'0, 230 lbs. Brown hair and eyes, slightly overweight. He's just an average guy that is easy to overlook in a crowd. He rarely goes anywhere without having a duffel bag full of various tools.

!!!HISTORY


Richy was born to a middle class family in Fayetteville Arkansas. From an early age he always seemed just a little bit off. Even before he could speak he could be found babbling at the shadows and laughing at things that weren't there. When this behaviour continued through his childhood, with him displaying strange moments of insight/skill/knowledge he should not have had, his parents took him to various doctors. They used pills and therapy to silence the voices he heard. Unknown to his family, Richy was born with a gift to hear and sometimes see the spirits of the dead that sorround everyone on a daily basis. It wasn't until he moved away from home that he decided to stop taking the pills, allowing the voices slowly back into his life. One of them, who called itself Adam, would often whisper to Richy about the joy of crafting with your own hands. Adam made it sound so enticing that Richy decided to take up a trade and found a school that would teach the old art of blacksmithing. While learning from his mundane teachers Richy was also learning from Adam about crafting the spiritual. It started off small by allowing Adam to possess his body and summon up some type of slimey substance but Richy quickly learned to summon up the “spirit stuff” himself and learned to forge and mold it using the same techniques from his school. This art progressed further and further until Richy learned to not only summon and mold the subtance but to also shape it quickly using nothing but his will. From there, Adam guided Richy into learning many other spirit like abilities such as short range teleportation and invisibility with the promise to teach him more but only if Richy would use his abilities to help others and not just himself. With that promise in mind, Richy began to listen to the sorrounding spirits and would find ways to help people. Sometimes by responding to a simple need of a broken down car needing repair all the way up to chasing away hostile spiritual entities. During one of these times he was helping someone, Richy found himself trying to pull out a yound woman from a car that had driven into a lake. He failed in saving her, but in doing so he himself got caught up in her belt and started to drown. If it hadn't been for Adam calming Richy down and talking him through cutting himself free Richy would have drowned. Because of the trauma of that event Richy is now afraid of the water and developed a phobia because of it.

Trying to prove to himself that he actually CAN make a difference, and partly to get away from the place of his shame where he failed to save the young woman from drowning, he listened to one of these other spirits asking for help, which lead Richy to Starke. The spirit was insistent that there was a lot of dangerous spiritual activity going and that Richy could do something. Listening to the spirit he packed up and moved away from his home state, keeping his online blacksmithing website open to contintue to take orders, and rented a place in Starke on the outskirts of town so his smithing doesn't bother others. It is definitely clear the spiritual activity is more active in Starke and that he will have his work cut out trying to help the innocent civilians here.

!!!NOTES


1) Wild Talent - Being the ability he focused on developing the most, he found a few tricks to ease the summoning and shaping of ectoplasm.
2) Mana - The energy used to power his abilities and maintain his creations. Gotta build up the battery to attach to the finished product.
3) Resources - Resources 2 is explained through him being a blacksmith. By careful usage of Channeling to gain momentary profcfiency in Finance, Richy has some investments that give him extra disposable income.
4) Resonance - A natural background all psychics must take. His resonance is influenced by how he learned to expand his abilities so it isn't unusual for his abilities to take on a ghostly flair.
5) Arcane - Sometimes you need to stay unnoticed from the things that go bump in the night.
6) Mentor - Representing Adam teaching Richy about the various abilities. Unknown to Richy, he is a descendent of Adam. It is currently unknown why Adam decided to specifically teach Richy.
7) Phobia - Representing his the trauma he developed after failing to save someone and almost drowning in the process
8) Haunted - Being a natural psychic that draws on and shapes ectoplasm, Richy often influences spirits around him in small ways. Unfortunately for him, the trauma of almost dying before influenced the spirit of the young woman he tried to save. She now haunts him.
9) Blacklisted - While learning to teleport, and before learning his invisiblity does not work on cameras, Richy ended up in quite a few places he shouldn't have been. This earned him a small criminal record for tresspassing when various camreas caught him where he shouldn't be.

!!!EQUIPMENT

3) a very precise lens from a laser gun. Gotten from Threat Null soldier

4) A smithing hammer forged and infused with the experience of a dead grandmaster smith. It adds +2 to all craft rolls. It must be used to make something to make something at least once a month or lose it's enchantment.

5) A tulpa that is forged from ectoplasm into the shape of a metal tower shield. The front of the shield is emblazoned with a hammer striking an anvil with a background of a spooky wasteland (some might recognize it as the underworld). There are two “handles” on the back that one would normally place their arm/hand through, but they are in actuallity small metallic arms that end in hands. The hands normally are in a resting position to look like standard shield handles but can be moved and used as actual arm/hands if needed. Total of 19 successes on the casting rolls for a total of 57 points to add in to abilities.

A separate ritual will be done, spending 1 mana, to use Mask of Reality (Approved and bought custom psychic ritual) to make the ectoplasm look like a metal tower shield.

6) Macuahuitl from big H. Gives +1 melee (Further enchanting from Richy: +4 melee, +4 to resist disarm/breaking. Can only be wielded by god chosen, damages all others who wield it) (Str+2 damage)

Macuahuitlo of Yaoyotl

A weapon of old brought forth by an even older god for a new champion. This macuahuitl was gifted to the Champion of Huithuitzilopochtli in the hopes that it will protect him in times of need. This Champion, who knew his way around a forge far better than a battlefield, decided to bring his skills to bear and infuse the weapon with the skill of the ancient warriors. By bathing the weapon in his own blood, he made the sacrifice and called on the ancient spirits of the Cuāuhmeh (elite aztec warriors long dead) to imbue some of their skill and power into the weapon. In the hands of a Godly Champion who has bathed it in their own blood, this weapon will confer that skill to the wielder and guide them in battle. Woe betide those who are not Godly Champions who wield the weapon for it will take it's sacrifice of your heart's blood, willing or not.

Mechanically, the weapon will only work for anyone who is a champion of a god and that prson takes 1 point of lethal damage using the weapon specifically for the purpose of attuning it to them. This damage can only be healed by time and natural means, not through magical healing. A champion of Huithuitzilopochtli does not have to take the damage.

Someone who is not a champion will take 1 aggravated damage each round it is held.

While being wielded the weapon will grant +4 to the melee skill. It also conveys an extra durability to the weapon 5adding +4 dice to any attempts to resist being broken or disarmed.

7) Cursed Amulet of the Underworld Crafted by an Underworld trained blacksmith/sorceror to help battle an Aztec Diety, this morbid looking amulet feeds on the magical energy of the wearer and takes an even more hideous toll to be removed. Created from an amalgamation of Silver and Ectoplasm the amulet is able to bolster and support the ability to maintain magical effects.

Mechanics - Takes and reserves 1 dot of Quintessence/Mana to wear

- Takes 1 agg damage or 2 paradox to remove, damage can only be healed through natural healing

- Maintains concentration on a spell/magic/psychic effect for you, allowing you to manifest other magics without taking a penalty. The amulet can maintain the effect for up to 6 months or until the amulet is removed (6 successes on ritual).

- Does not work when using the highest sphere/path level you have, even in combinations. (If you have prime 5 and matter 4 you can only use the two together if it's a prime 3 and matter 3 or lower effect. It it's just prime you can use it for prime 4 and below assuming you have Prime 5)

- This item has no special effect for any wearer that does not have a Quinessence or Mana pool.

8) Sword of Marozzo

Requires 2 str minimum. Difficulty 6 Damage +2 (only +1 to innocents), Trench coat to conceal +4 dice of melee to someone who has at least 1 dot of melee, otherwise it gives 2 melee dice

Crafting and Enchanting a sword by Channeling the spirit of a sword master, infusing ectoplasm into the sword while doing so. Richy uses his enchanted hammer to make sure it's well made and perfectly balanced which should allow the enchantment of this particular type to take effect easier since it'll be enhancing what is already there. By channeling the spirit of a famous sword master (Achille Marozzo) he can impart that knowledge into the sword so that whoever uses it will gain proficiency in the sword, thus giving the +4 to melee skill when wielding the sword. And because it's Richy and he's a good guy, he's adding in the weakness of it never being used, or even attempted to be used, to kill an innocent or the enchantment will permanently be gone. With the enchantment gone the infused ectoplasm disintegrates, shattering the blade and making it useless.
