Backgrounds:

3 BP Chimera (Companions) 4 Resources (2 BP, 2 Freebies)

Merits:

2 points Crack Shot No matter what you're pointing, gun, arrow, or dart, you hit your target with great accuracy. You receive no increased difficulty when targeting any specific location. You gain one extra dice on Firearms rolls that do not involve specific targeting. Note: This only applies to scoped weapons. It does not apply to pistols or fully-automatic weapons. This merit also applies to Energy Weapons rolls.

2 points Nightsight Night blinds many eyes, but not yours. Regardless of the lighting conditions, your eyes adjust automatically, so you can see equally well at high noon, midnight, or entering pitch darkness. The adjustment is instantaneous, so if you are standing in a dark room and someone lights a candle, you’re not blinded

Flaws:

1 point Insubordinate: Following the orders of leaders you do not respect rankles you like nothing else. Whenever such a leader makes a com mand or request of you, roll Willpower (difficulty 5) and on a failure, you will work against their decree.

1 point Stubborn: Once your mind is made up, there's no changing it. You cling to your beliefs the way a pit bull does a leg, and you're about as pleasantly comported when others challenge you. You hate to be proved wrong and go to extremes to avoid enduring the shame of it. Increase the difficulties of all Social rolls by two when someone challenges your ways

1 point Cultural Snob: You have nothing but disdain for popular music, TV and movies. You couldn't name any of the current top-10 songs, and you think that knowledge of TV is a sign of poor taste and incorrigible stupidity. Unfortunately, this means you have a hard time relating to people who aren't equally snobbish with things. When dealing with strangers who don't share your allegedly enlightened views, increase the difficulty of any Social rolls by two.

2 points Intolerance (“Poor” Treatment of Commoners, Changeling or otherwise.): You have an unreasoning dislike of a certain thing. This may be a class of person, a situation, or just about anything else. The difficulties of all dice rolls involving the subject — such as conflict, dealing with the lower classes, or having to break bread with a certain kith — are increased by two. Note that some dislikes may be too trivial for this Flaw. The Storyteller is the final arbiter on what you can pick to dislike

Birthright

Unearthly Beauty– Sidhe stand out in a crowd due to their beauty and regal bearing. Sidhe receive two additional dots of Appear ance, even if this brings that rating above 5. When they invoke the Wyrd (p. 259), this beauty becomes over powering. If a sidhe invokes the Wyrd in the presence of a character, the player must roll Willpower (difficulty 8). If that roll fails, the character can only stare in awestruck wonder at the sidhe for one turn for each dot of the sidhe’s Appearance.

Noble Bearing– Sidhe carry a quiet dignity at all times. Cantrips de signed to humiliate them or make them look foolish automatically fail (that does not prevent cantrips from harming them, of course, they just don’t lose their poise when it happens). Sidhe cannot botch Etiquette or Politics rolls.

Backstory

Physical Description:
Human Form: “Carolyn Laine” is a woman who always looks like she wants to be anywhere else. Her mouth is downturned, dark brows furrowed, and her hair is kept in a sort of pixie cut meant for a sleek and sharp Corpo cut, but is purely a pragmatic decision. Makes for easier hunting, after all. She possesses a strong jaw and sharp cheekbones that only lend to the image that she is not one to mess with. Anyone who spends more than 15 minutes with her quickly comes to the realization that this image is one “Carolyn” plays up entirely for her own amusement, utterly bemused by the novelty of business life–a reality that doesnt exactly inspire respect. Among the Prodigals and her Fae kin, this sort of whimsical appearance is only made more dramatic by her…

Fae Mien: Violet-eyed and hair the colors of Saharan dunes at midday, Aoife hits all the basic marks for classical Sidhe beauty, but only just. As far as her ilk go, she could be called “plain”, with even her Voile being relatively understated. “Understated” for an Arcadian still means she is draped in loose and flattering jewelry of brilliant golds, a ceremonial gown meant for a champion of the Wilds, and heavy heraldry of both her House and her position as Mistress of Hounds: Fangs and talons hang in spiraling rows along her skirt and collar, feathers of the same golden-brown and whites as the barn owl caress the length of her back and chest, and even her base physiology is affected. She has been granted a pair of beautiful cervine ears and her skin carries the brown with white spotting found in fawns, lending a distinct resemblance to a young doe–an image that certainly hasnt helped her appear as stately and noble as she so attempts to.

Personality:
Aoife is a layered and contradictory person by human standards, a fact which makes her ironically much more human than she realizes. Equal parts cynical yet hopeful, condescending yet uplifting, and dour yet humorous, the Arcadian doesn't play by your rules and it's anyone's guess if they're her rules or someone else's. She is utterly delighted by the novelties of this world, finding small moments of joy in “human” things like riding a bus or purchasing a hot dog from a stand (with wheels, of course!) Even in the heat of battle, this attitude does not waver; the whistling of her arrow delights her as much the gurgling noises her dying prey makes. The easiest path to understanding her is that she simply *plays hard*. No one takes their fun as seriously as she, and no one has as much fun being serious.

Underneath all of this is a heavy current of bitterness. Something about her position irks her deeply, and as a creature prone to… extremes, Aoife reacts incredibly negatively to any slander against her honor or mockery of her ranking… even as she treats those beneath her questionably. Strikingly, she holds immense disdain for those who she sees as failing in their roles as leaders. Hypocrisy is not a rare trait among the Sidhe, and Aoife is no different.

Backstory:
Aoife ní Daireann is the Houndmaster for House Daireann, charged with the care and training of the hunting “dogs” for use by the higher ranked Arcadian Sidhe during their grand hunts. (while usually canine chimera, the term “Hound” in this context refers to all manner of similar beasts, including saber-toothed tigers, chupacabra, and even small, falcon-like dragons) Her duties also included assisting the her superiors in tending to the hunting grounds as well as any such “pets” her House's guests brought with them. This position lead to her working with Commoner Kiths far more than her fellow nobility might, and with that came a degree of appreciation and respect (though not as equals) for their abilities and charming ways. The Sidhe's departure from the Autumn world notably did not include her direct superior: The Royal Houndmaster Ciarán ni Daireann, who chose to stay behind. This decision left Aoife with his responsibilities on top of her own but without the increase in title to go along with it–an insult that has given her quite the chip on her shoulder over the last 600 years. Still, she is the model of a dutiful servant of her House, bearing that weight of responsibility without complaint… though its anyones guess when the last time she unclenched her jaw was.

Her return to the Autumn world left her possessing the body of a high-powered, corporate editor-in-chief for a publishing company. A position that would come with inherent Banality, but is cushioned by the fact that the company primarily publishes books for children and young adults. “Carolyn Laine” is a 37yo divorcee who never had time for anyone except her Tibetan Mastiff “Hodge”. A wealthy woman with a respectably private and spacious home, Aoife was as pleased with her new life as any Arcadian reasonably could be.

Notes:
Aoife's primary means of avoiding the Banality inherent in Carolyn's life is simple: to her, the time she spends in the Autumn world is a safari of sorts. An extended stay in a far off land with a strange new body. While not everything is a joke to her, just about everything out of the ordinary IS part of some grand game that she will one day return from. To this end…

RP Notes: -Aoife constantly plays exceedingly petty pranks on her lessers or otherwise acts unprofessional in subtle ways. At a meeting she might play with fidget toys under the table or envision childish scenarios like shareholders arm-wrestling. -Aoife is surpisingly bad at court intrigue. While blessed as any Sidhe, she has a lot of anger towards her position, and does a very very bad job of hiding it. -Nothing makes her more upset than violating Hospitality, as with many of her house, but she takes it as a personal insult and failing. Aoife ni Daireann IS a “Good Host”. Breaking protocol is not simply a faux pas with dangerous repercussions, it is a direct attack on her identity. -Treating Commoners “well” or “poorly” comes from a mindset that they are inherently beneath her and the rest of the Sidhe. Dueling a commoner would be seen as unfair to the commoner, romancing one would be an abuse of power, and so she comes across as EXTREMELY ignorant in her condescending attitude. She genuinely believes she is being generous and looking out for them, and usually comes across like an overbearing mother or-far more likely-a VERY adoring pet owner. Commoners are to be loved, cherished, guided, and protected… but not respected.
