Granite - Gargoyle - Granite is an ancient gargoyle in another praxis that Geode found in his travels before settling in Starke. He teaches Geode what it means to be a free gargoyle and how to use his vampiric powers. He also knows Obfuscate and teaches any gargoyle in need of a means to stay hidden.

Physical Description:
Geode is imposing, muscular and large. With a canine face and sloped horns. His wings are leathery and he often keeps them wrapped around his torso like a robe when he is not using them. His skin is ashen grey and almost seems like stone, as is to be expected of a Gargoyle.

But despite his brutish appearance he is somewhat graceful and precise in his movements.

Personality:
Unlike most Gargoyles Geode is a thinker as much as a fighter. He is deeply devoted to the goal many of his people share, freeing their kind from slavery. Hundreds of years after the gargoyle revolt and many of their kind still live in the houses of those that see them as servants.

He does not tolerate attempts to force him to do anything. You can ask him to do anything, he might help happily, but if you bark orders at him and expect him to obey without reason, he will be the first to tell you where to go. His freedom was hard won, and he will not give it up for anyone.

Backstory:
Geode remembers nothing of his time before being a Gargoyle. His entire history is a blank, as are the decades spent as the mindless puppet of a Sabbat pack. His first memory is the moment a Garou tore his master in half, freeing him from servitude. But at the time he was unable to truly understand. He went into a frenzy and attacked the werewolf, and the remainder of the pack with him. They manage to drive the beast off, but Geode was the only one left alive. He came out of frenzy and collpased, flying off into the gloom before dawn. He barely managed to find a place to hide from the sun before it rose, and spent the next decade just trying to find a place where he wouldn't be chased or forced to serve others again. In that time he has learned much, and now knows his purpose. To free his kind from servitude.

In the two decades since his escape from the Sabbat Geode has laid low. Worried deep down that someone will ask why he is alive, and why he didn't die defending his 'master'. His hatred for the Sabbat and their continued threat to his freedom smolders quietly in the back of his mind, waiting for the day he can lash out at any who would enslave his kin.

In that time he has trained both his body and his mind to be able to resist further attempts at subjugating him. He does mental exercises every day to strengthen his will and his body.

At the same time he has decided that his freedom has a price, and that price is that he must be better than the base monsters that enslaved him. He has to be something more than they are to give his freedom any meaning. As such he does not drink human blood unless absolutely necessesary, instead feeding on the cattle his company keeps in the night. He takes only a small amount of blood from each cow, so that none of them appear anemic in the morning when the farm hands come to check on them.
