Retainers are human that specialize in a skillset that would assist the Vampire. Think of them as an employee. You must maintain some control over your retainers by:
Retainers and Ghouls are not characters used for roleplay with other characters besides your Vampire.
At any time the Storyteller’s feel your Vampire’s Retainer or Ghoul is being mistreated in any way, they will be taken from them. Your character will lose their dot(s) in their background with no compensation for the loss.

Maximum dots in Background: 5
Maximum Individual Retainer’s: 3
Maximum skill level/education per Retainer: 3
Additional dots can be invested into a single Retainer, raising the capability to assist the Vampire. Each Retainer’s maximum dots allowed 3.
Invested in a Single Retainer
1 dot - High School graduate
2 dots - Bachelor degree (4 yrs)
3 dots - Master’s degree (8 yrs)

Step Three: Select Abilities 13/9/5 (Nothing higher than three at this stage)
