**Backstory:** Madds was a PR liaison aboard the Perseus, a ship that was touted to break free of Einstein's Cage.  It didn't.  But it did make 10% of the speed of light.  For a total of 4 minutes.  The crew barely survived the test, and most of them were left either mentally of physically scarred by the ordeal... Madds was the latter.  Mercury let him 'loose' afterwards, when it became apparent that he was mentally unstable after the test flight\\
